Military Speakers are delighted to announce that they are supporting the charity Soldier On!.   For every booking made we will make a donation to the charity.  Solidier On! is a community charity that works in partnership with UK government and service charities to support those who have been medically discharged to make a successful transition between leaving the armed services and finding rewarding careers through the provision of intensive, individually focused career management.

Each year some 1,000 individuals are routinely made redundant on medical grounds from the armed forces. Numbers have increased substantially as the Ministry of Defence also makes redundant some of the thousands of wounded personnel from recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Returning to civilian life is hard enough for those who have made a conscious decision to leave but is even harder for individuals who have had their career taken away from them by sustaining an injury or having acquired a life-changing illness.

We work in partnership with each individual as they take responsibility for their own futures and learn the tools they will need to understand themselves well enough to manage their careers now and in the future. We encourage them to move from a life of dependency on others to one where they take proper control of their lives and start to explore the myriad of opportunities that are open to them.

This unique offering to service personnel is taken from a proven process tested over many years in the commercial sector with those wanting to change their jobs completely. Having understood an individual's requirements and potential we use our increasing network of contacts to identify internships and work experiences which allow our candidates to test out their assumptions about what is appropriate for them, and explore different options to decide for themselves what environments suit them best. We then work with each individual to identify and achieve that 'right' job where they positively contribute to their new organisations

Our work does not stop there. The door is left open for continuing advice and support beyond that first job…for as long as each individual needs it.

Soldier On! receives all of its funding through donations. It is our ambition that the charity will eventually be staffed, regionally, by the very people we set out to support who can personally relate to the experiences of others who have been medically discharged. Employment support is sourced through hundreds of individuals, businesses, membership organisations and industry bodies who support our work.

Our aim is simply to allow those who have endured life changing injuries or illness to live within their chosen communities with a renewed sense of purpose, dignity and self-sufficiency.
