Ben Collins - Top Gear's Stig & Hollywood stunt driver

Ben Collins is a racing car driver, most notably known for being The Stig on BBC 2's programme Top Gear. He is also a successful stunt driver and has participated in many categories of motor racing, including Indy Lights and Fomula Three

After Ben graduated in Law from Exeter University he served four years in the military with his exceptional driving ability being utilised as a Special Forces driving instructor.

After leaving the army he used his ability behind the wheel to pursue a career as a racing car driver. Collins began his motor racing professionally in 1994 through to 2010 in a variety of formats, most notably Formula Three and Le Mans Series across Europe.

Ben Collins become one of the most famous drivers, albeit anonymously, when he took on the role of 'The Stig' on the BBC's highly popular television programme Top Gear. 

Having worked on the programme since 2003 Ben left in 2010 and released his autobiography The Man in The White Suit.

Away from the BBC, Ben has continued a career of hidden notoriety as a stunt driver for a number of top Hollywood films. With a stunt driving career that includes 'The Dark Knight Rises', 'Quantum of Solace' and most recently 'Skyfall', Collins has executed his motor skills on some of the most high profile film sets in Hollywood.

Collins returned to the Top Gear set with a special edition appearance for military amputees in July 2011. 

Collins' diverse career has seen him go from the training camps at Sandhurst through to the film sets of multi-million pound Hollywood blockbusters makes Ben a fascinating speaker. Being someone who used his military training as a springboard for career success, Collins is able to share with eloquence, anecdotes and humour how the army values can help careers in the civilian world.
